Prevent and control the overpopulation of dogs and cats on Koh Lanta
in a humane way through STERILIZATION PROGRAMS. By doing this, the
sufferings (hunger, disease, abuse, injuries) will be greatly reduced
as well.
- Provide animal care for those who are injured and abused.
- Provide education and promote awareness of animal care & respect,
regardless of religion.
History of LAW:
LAW is a non profit foundation, started 3 years ago, by Junie, the
owner of Time For Lime.
Together with help from Soi Dog Foundation,
a few voluntary vets and a handful of kind people which have donated
money and helped, 760 animals have been sterilized and rabies vaccine
as of April 2009.
We constantly try to treat injured animals as well but this is very
difficult since there is no Vet on the Island. Most animals have had
to be treated on the mainland using expensive Vets, many traveling
hours resulting high costs.
LAW now:
- We are in the process of registering LAW as a charity foundation.
- We are in the process of building our own "JaiDee Clinic" and "JaiDee
Pet Hotel". Animal owners using these services will help to generate
revenues that will be injected into the LAW charity fund to cover
monthly costs to help stray animals in need for care and conduct sterilization
programs.
Where does this money come from? Unfortunately we don't have any millionaires
backing us, and the money is not falling from Heaven or Allah either.
That means we need your help!
Volunteering at LAW:
Sometimes you don't have the money but you have the time. Your time
will be greatly appreciated! Either it's for a few days or a month.
You can help the animals in different ways like daily care, fund raising
and education.
Adoption, Fostering, Sponsorship, Donation:
- Why not adopt one of ours? They'd love a home where their well being
is your first concern. Adopt! - Can you give a temporary home to a
loving pet? Then fostering is for you!
- Want to help a homeless dog/cat but don't have the time or space
for it? Then sponsor one or give a donation.
All the money will go to help find good homes and giving medical care
they need.
Sterilization is so important!
